What games do you want EA to reboot? | Lazygamer .:: Console and ...

Reboot

EA?s on a bit of a reboot frenzy, bringing back some of its aged, lapsed franchises. It?s had some notable success with SSX, and a little less so with the first-person-shooter reboot of Syndicate.

Speaking to CVG, EA Labels head Frank Gibeau says the publisher is considering reviving more old EA games.

"Syndicate was something that we took a risk on. It didn?t pay off ? it didn?t work," he said.

"But in general it doesn?t change my appetite for wanting to go look in the library and see what we have and maybe bring back some IPs for the next-generation. That?s the nature of the business; some stuff works, some stuff doesn?t."

Touching on SSX?s successful reboot, Gibeau highlighted that game?s success.

"I think SSX was a very successful launch for us and there was some online innovation there that really showed why it made sense to bring that back. It?s done well and you?ll probably see more in the future.

EA wants to do more.

?There are numerous IPs that I think about all the time like Command & Conquer and Sim City ? which is a brand we?ve brought back after seven years."

On that note; which old EA games would you like the publisher to resurrect?

I?d be over the moon if they brought back Desert Strike, Archon and The Bard?s Tale. I also really wish they did more with all of the Bullfrog IP they acquired Les Edgar and Peter Molyneux?s old studios; Theme Park, Dungeon Keeper, Theme Hospital?and maybe a proper sequel to Syndicate that isn;t an FPS.
