Island Computer Scores with Great Customer Service | It's Your ...

By Avra Sullivan

Growing up in Grasonville, John Watkins spent most of his time on the football field, earning a football scholarship to Towson. A shoulder injury during his junior year caused him to re-think his life?s game plan. He began studying computers and after college worked in various aspects of computer technology.

In 2001 John started his own IT consulting business based out of Columbia, MD. He soon longed for the Eastern Shore again, and he and his wife moved back to the Kent Island area in 2005. In 2011 he opened his own store, Computer Island located on Romancoke Road in Stevensville. Computer Island specializes in SOHO, or Small Office and Home Office IT support.

Helping customers utilize technology to its fullest, the company can assist with computer repairs, network management and much more. They install and set up computer surveillance, allowing individuals to monitor their home or business while away. The company also operates a cyber caf? equipped with laptops and provides print, fax and scan services. A professional and welcoming environment makes it a perfect place to hold meetings, or to use as a satellite office rather than working from home or going to the office.

Computer Island believes education is essential to understanding and properly utilizing new and fast changing technology. Through training classes, John says that they can help ?empower people on how things work.? A popular class they offer is the Cyber Savvy Parent workshop, which teaches parents how to set parental controls and how to monitor their child?s Internet activity.

Customer service is at the top of the priority list for John and his staff. They strive to ?treat each customer like they are the only customer,? says John. While they want to get things done quickly, John is dedicated to ?getting it done right? and will communicate and work with each client to meet individual computer needs.

Computer Island is located at 356 Romancoke Road in Stevensville. You can learn more about them by visiting their website at www.computerislandllc.com or by calling 443-926-9933.
