It's not often that the military and Fashion Week collide (although thinking of the two together makes us recall one of our favorite lines from "The Devil Wears Prada" in which Miranda Priestly demands, "Is it impossible to find a lovely, slender, female paratrooper? Am I reaching for the stars here? Not really.")
But lo and behold, this New York Fashion Week featured six servicewomen who traded in their fatigues for fashion, courtesy of designers like Donna Karan and Carmen Marc Valvo.
CBS's "The Early Show" taped these six women, who are part of the "Fatigues to Fabulous" campaign, getting all dolled up for their runway walks. The women, who are all currently veterans, are hoping to raise awareness of the sacrifices that American female military vets -- all 1.8 million of them -- make and the issues they face.
One issue they certainly don't have is keeping their looks. These six women look totally gorgeous as they hit the stage at Lincoln Center for their latest duty: modeling.
